This incident happened on 13 August 1868. This small city is totally surrounded by the ocean. Over 25000 people died and there was a huge amount of destruction to the infrastructure. 9. Southern Sumatra, Indonesia
The series of megathrust earthquakes occurred along the coast of Sumatra that days. It measured about 8.3 on the Richter scale. Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore all were under the effect of this Earthquake.
10. Shaanxi, China
The last in our list of Top 10 Earthquakes is the deadliest in the past history. This earthquake happened near about 500-600 years ago. Over 60% of the population lost their lives. The magnitude of the earthquake was 8 of Richter scale. A huge amount of property loss also occurred. Around 820,000-830,000 people lost their lives in this disaster.
